Hillpointe Expands Into Nevada With First Land Acquisition, Plans 358-Home Pointe Grand Cape at Southport in South Reno
Hillpointe acquired a 32.5-acre site at 18610 Wedge Parkway in South Reno, its first land acquisition in Nevada. The site will become Pointe Grand Cape at Southport, a 358-home rental community.
The community will combine 268 apartments with 90 built-to-rent townhomes, steps from neighborhood retail and minutes from Reno's major employers.

The community
Pointe Grand Cape at Southport will have 268 two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments across 12 residential buildings and 90 three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom townhomes, each with an attached two-car garage.
Residents will have a clubhouse, a resort-style pool and hot tub, a fully equipped fitness center, a dog park and a pickleball court.
Location
The site is within walking distance of Galena High School and neighborhood retail, 5 to 10 minutes from The Summit Reno, and, with direct access to I-580, about 12 minutes from Reno-Tahoe International Airport, 17 minutes from Downtown Reno and 35 minutes from Lake Tahoe.
More than 142,500 jobs are within 10 miles of the site, at employers including the Reno Tahoe Tech Center, Renown South Meadows Medical Center, the University of Nevada, Reno, the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, the Tesla and Panasonic Gigafactory and the Switch data center campus.
Timeline
Grading begins in the fourth quarter of 2026, with full site work starting in December and vertical construction expected in March 2027. The first homes are expected in January 2028 and completion in April 2028.
